I am excited to be able to help people get by with their ebike journey. Here at ebikewizard.com, I share my expertise and over a decade of experience riding, testing, and troubleshooting ebikes of all kinds.
Today we will be reviewing the Aveny Skyline offered by Blix. Unlike other electric bike reviews, we have a team of professional engineers who will be testing the e-bike themselves and will provide detailed feedback on different factors of the electric bike.
The Merlin Report Card rates on performance, appearance, comfort, and price. The Aveny Skyline is an everyday commuter e-bike claiming to be a well-rounded e-bike, lets see how it does according to our engineers:
The e-bike features a powerful 500 watts motor that supports up to 270 pounds and can easily climb steep hills. It can reach speeds up to 20 mph and the mechanical disc brakes can bring you to a halt if you are on flat terrain.
The problem with mechanical breaks is that they are not as efficient as hydraulic disc brakes, so, if you try to stop the e-bike on a steep hill, chances are that you will have trouble and might cause the brakes to overheat and malfunction.
Despite the problems with the braking system, the e-bike performs decently on most terrains.
The first words that came from our engineers when they sat on the Aveny Skyline were, “This is quite comfortable.” The e-bike has an upright seating position and a low step-through frame that allows for more space, making it a comfortable ride.
They also introduced larger tires that offer more stability at higher speeds. Moreover, the tires are anti-puncture, so you won’t have to worry about getting your tire repaired that often. Plus, the display hosts a USB port that gives you convenience along with comfort.
Our engineers loved the smart incorporation of multiple components and appreciated the design of the e-bike. The battery is placed below the seat, allowing for a low step-through frame while maintaining a center position for a low center of gravity.
The overall appearance is very unique and catches the attention of bystanders. The only input our engineers offered was that there were too many exposed wires that could get damaged easily. If the wires could be concealed, it would enhance the beauty of this electric bike further.
The Aveny Skyline is listed for $1,799 but before we decide if it is a good purchase, we must review how the bike performed for our engineers:
|Performance||3 out of 5|
|Comfort||4 out of 5|
|Appearance||4 out of 5|
|Price||4.5 out of 5|
|Total||4 ouf of 5|
Our engineers loved the Aveny Skyline for multiple reasons. Firstly, it performs quite nicely, the only flaw is the mechanical breaks. However, if you plan on riding on flat terrains, then you will have no problem.
The ride was very comfortable and we loved the unique design. The price is also relatively slow compared to the other e-bikes in the market.
We certainly recommend buying this e-bike but if performance matters to you, then this is not the best option out there. However, if you are buying your first e-bike, the Aveny Skyline should be a great option at a very reasonable price.
